Novelty and Fantasy Cakes Recipes - Pizza Cake

Ingredients

  • 25cm shallow sponge cake

  • 350g butter icing

  • red and green food coloring

  • 175g yellow marzipan

  • 25g sugar paste icing

  • 15ml desiccated coconut

Method:

  1. Place the cake on the pizza plate. Tint the butter icing red and spread evenly over the cake, leaving a 1cm border.

  2. Knead the marzipan for a few minutes, to soften slightly, then grate it like cheese, and sprinkle all over the top of the red butter icing.

  3. Tint the sugar-paste icing green. Use the leaf cutter to cut out two leaf shapes. Mark the veins with the back of a knife and place on the pizza cake.

  4. For the chopped herbs, Tint the desiccated coconut dark green. Then scatter over the pizza cake.
