Wholemeal Herb Triangles
Ingredients
225g wholemeal flour
115g strong plain flour
5ml salt
2.5ml bicarbonate of soda
5ml cream of tartar
2.5m chili powder
50g soft margarine
250ml skimmed milk
60ml chopped mixed fresh herbs
15ml sesame seeds
Method:
Preheat the oven
to 220'C/425"F/Gas 7. Flour a baking sheet. Put the
wholemeal flour in a mixing bowl. Sift in the
remaining dry ingredients, including the chili
powder, then rub in the margarine.
Add the milk
and herbs and mix quickly to a soft dough. Turn
onto a lightly floured surface. Knead very
briefly or the dough will become tough.
Roll out to a
23cm/9in circle and place on the prepared baking
sheet. Brush lightly with water and sprinkle with
the sesame seeds.
Cut the dough
round into 8 wedges, separate slightly and bake for
15-20 minutes. Transfer the triangles to a wire rack
to cool. Serve warm or cold.
