Dessert Recipes - Swiss Chocolate Squares Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 cup parkay Margarine

  • 1 1/2 1-oz squares unsweetened chocolate

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 cup Parkay Margarine

  • 6 Tbs milk

  • 1 1/2 1-oz squares unsweetened chocolate

  • 4 1/2 cups sifted confectioners sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 cup chopped nuts


Method:

  1. Combine water, margarine and chocolate in saucepan; bring to boil. Remove from heat.

  2. Stir in combined flour and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream, baking soda and salt; mix well.

  3. Pour into greased and floured 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 375°F 20 to 25 minutes.

  4. Combine margarine, milk and chocolate in saucepan; bring to boil. Remove from heat.

  5. Add sugar; beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla.

  6. Frost cake while warm; sprinkle with nuts. Cool; cut into squares.
