Dessert Recipes - Sun-Maid Victory Cake Recipe

Ingredients 

• 1 cup Sun-Maid Raisins

• 1 cup brown sugar (packed)

• 1 cup water

• 1/2 cup shortening

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 1 tsp nutmeg

• 1 tsp cloves 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

• 1 tsp soda

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Makes one 9-inch cake

Method:

1. Combine Raisins, sugar, water, shortening and spices; heat to boiling and simmer 2 minutes. Cool 1 hour.

2. Resift flour with soda and salt. Stir into raisin mixture, along with walnuts. Turn into greased 9-inch tube or square pan.

3. Bake in slow oven (300F) 50 to 60 minutes, just until cake tests done. Cool in pan.
