Dessert Recipes - Pecan Turtles Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) Blue Bonnet Margarine

  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

  • Dash salt

  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup

  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 1/2 cups Planters Pecan Pieces

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • One 6-oz package semi­sweet chocolate morsels, melted


Method:

  1. Melt Blue Bonnet Margarine over medium heat in a medium saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and salt. Mix in com syrup and sweetened condensed milk.

  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, to 245°F (firm-ball stage), about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in Planters Pecan Pieces and vanilla.

  3. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. When cooled and firm, dip into melted chocolate to coat top.

  4. Return to greased baking sheet and cool until chocolate is set. Store candies in a closed container in a cool place.
