Ingredients

2 cups Pillsbury's
Best Self-Rising or Unbleached Self-Rising Flour

2 Tbs sugar
-
1/2 cup shortening
-
3/4 cup half-and-half
or whipping cream

2 Tbs margarine or
butter, melted
-
1 Tbs sugar
-
1
cup whipping cream, whipped

6 cups sliced
strawberries or other favorite
fruit
Method:

Heat oven to 425°F. Lightly spoon flour into measuring
cup; level off.

In large bowl, combine flour and sugar.
Cut shortening into flour mixture with fork
until consistency
of coarse meal.

Add half-and-half to flour mixture; stir
just until moistened. Spread batter in 2 un-greased 8-inch round pans. Brush melted margarine over batter;
sprinkle with sugar.

Bake at 425°F for 12 to I8 minutes
or until light golden brown. Immediately remove from
pans; cool completely.

Fill and top layers with whipped
cream and strawberries. Refrigerate leftovers.
