Dessert Recipes - Chocolate Caramel Sauce Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • Dash of salt

  • 3 Tbs water

  • 1/4 cup Hershey's Chocolate Flavored Syrup

  • 1 Tbs butter

  • 1 Tbs cornstarch

  • 1 cup hot water

  • 12 tsp vanilla


Method:

  1. Cook sugar and salt with 3 Tbs water to a light caramel brown.

  2. Remove from heat; add chocolate syrup, butter and cornstarch mixed to a paste and 1 cup hot water.

  3. Cook over direct heat until thick (220°F), for about 15 minutes; add vanilla.

  4. Serve with cottage pudding or other hot desserts. This sauce is very nice with ice cream.
