Dessert Recipes - Brown-Eyed Susans Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup Parkay Margarine

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/2 tsp almond extract

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Chocolate Frosting (below)

  • Whole almonds

Chocolate Frosting:

  • 1 cup confectioners sugar, sifted

  • 2 Tbs cocoa

  • 1 Tbs hot water

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla


Method:

  1. Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in extract. Add flour and salt; mix well.

  2. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Place on un-greased cookie sheet; flatten slightly.

  3. Bake at 375°F, 10 to 12 minutes. Cool. Frost with Chocolate Frosting; top with almonds.

Chocolate Frosting: Combine sugar and cocoa. Add water and vanilla and mix well.
