Dessert Recipes - Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients     

  • 2 cups Pillsbury's Best Self-Rising or Unbleached Self-Rising Flour

  • 1/2 cup shortening

  • 3/4 cup milk

Makes 12 biscuits


Method:

  1. Heat oven to 450°F. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.

  2. Cut shortening into flour with fork until consistency of coarse meal. Add milk all at once; stir with fork just until a soft dough forms.

  3. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; sprinkle dough lightly with flour. Knead gently 10 times or until no longer sticky.

  4. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with 2-inch floured biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on un-greased cookie sheet.

  5. Bake at 450°F for 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
