Instructions for jar: Spoon sugar into 1 liter
jar. Sprinkle pecans over sugar.
Combine flour with
salt, spoon over pecans and press gently to fit.
For baking: Preheat oven to 350° (176°C). Empty contents of
jar into large mixing bowl.
Add butter, almond
extract and vanilla to dry ingredients in
bowl and mix well. Dough will be slightly crumbly.
Knead it a liter to make it hold its shape.
Chill for 1 to 2 hours to make dough easier to
handle. Take small pieces of dough and shape into
1-inch (2.5 cm) balls.
Place dough balls on un greased baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until cookies
are light brown. while cookies are warm, roll in
powdered sugar.
