Instructions for jar:
Pour sugar
into 1 liter jar and smooth over.

Place brown
sugar over sugar and pack down firmly but
evenly.

Spoon flour
and baking soda over brown sugar and press down.
Pour in oats, then place cranberries on oats.

Add oats over
walnuts and place lid on jar to close.

For baking: Preheat oven to 350
(176C). Empty contents of jar
into large mixing bowl. Add butter or margarine. egg
and vanilla.

Beat on low speed until dough is
thoroughly blended. Roll heaping teaspoonfuls of
dough into balls and place 3 inches (8 cm) apart on un-greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 12 to 14 minutes
or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven
and let cookies cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute
before transferring to cooling rack.
