Dessert Recipes - Crispy Cracklin' Cookies Recipe

Ingredients              

• 1/2 cup sugar

• 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

• 1 cup flour

• 1/2 tsp baking soda

• 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

• 1 egg

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method:

1. Instructions for jar: Put sugar in 1 liter jar. Layer brown sugar over sugar.

2. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Spoon over brown sugar.

3. Layer oats over flour mixture and cereal over oats.

4. For baking: Preheat oven to 3500 (1760 C). Whisk butter, egg, and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Empty cookie mix from jar into medium mixing bowl and stir to combine ingredients.

5. Slowly add dry cookie mixture to egg mixture and stir after each addition. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls on lightly sprayed baking sheet.

6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are light brown.
