Dessert Recipes - Colorful Candy Cookies Recipe

Ingredients              

• 1 cup/240 ml sugar

• 1/2 cup/120 ml packed light brown sugar

• 2 cups/480 ml flour

• 1 tsp/5 ml bakign soda

• 1/4 tsp/1 ml salt

• 1 cup/240 ml M&M candies

• 3/4 cup/180 ml (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

• 2 eggs

(Makes about  3 to 3 1/2 dozen)

Method:

1. Instructions for jar: Place sugar in a 1 liter jar and smooth over top to make even.

2. Spoon brown sugar over and pack down evenly.

3. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Stir to mix. Spoon over brown sugar in jar, pressing down evenly.

4. Pour candies over flour mixture and place lid on jar.

5. For baking: Preheat oven to 350 (176C). Empty contents or jar into large bowl. Add butter or margarine and eggs.

6. Beat by hand, so you don't break candies, until dough is thoroughly mixed. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls o un-greased cookie sheet Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are browned.

7. Remove from oven and let cookies cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute, then transfer to cooling rack.
