Ingredients
Serves 8-10
Method:

Preheat the oven to 160°C/325°F/Gas mark 3.
Warm the milk gently with the bicarbonate of soda and
take off the heat. Add the sultanas and ginger.

Cream
the butter, add the sugar and beat until light and
fluffy.
Add in the eggs, one at a time.

Stir in the treacle and
raisins, then add the flour
and ground ginger. Mix well. Pour into a large loaf tin
which has been lined
with baking parchment.

Bake for 1 1/2 hours, then turn out and cool on a wire
rack.
