Cold Desserts Recipes - Chocolate Fudge Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500g/18oz dark chocolate

  • 75g/3oz butter

  • 400g/14oz condensed milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

Serves 5


Method:

  1. Lightly grease a 20cm/8in square cake tin. Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a large saucepan with the butter and condensed milk. Heat gently, stirring, until the chocolate and butter melt and the mixture is smooth. Do not allow to boil.

  2. Remove from the heat. Beat in the vanilla essence, then beat the mixture for a few minutes until thickened. Pour into the prepared tin and level the top. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until firm.

  3. Tip the fudge out onto a chopping board and cut into squares to serve.
