Cold Desserts Recipes - Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

• 100g/4oz butter

• 100g/4oz brown sugar

• 100g/4oz granulated sugar

• 1 egg

• 3/4 teaspoon vanilla essence

• 350g/12oz plain flour

• 1 tablespoon baking powder

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 100g/4oz peanuts (chopped)

• 100g/4oz chocolate chips

Serves 8-10

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas mark 5. Cream the butter and both sugars in a bowl until smooth and light. Beat in the egg and vanilla essence.

2. Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt and stir into the mixture, blending well. Stir in the nuts and chocolate chips.

3. Drop teaspoons of mixture on to greased trays, about 2.5cm/1in apart. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
