Recipes - Chocolate
and Coconut Slices
Ingredients
175g/2 cups crushed digestive biscuits
50g/1/4 cup caster sugar
pinch of salt
115g/1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
75g/1 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
250g/9oz plain chocolate chips
250ml/1 cup sweetened condensed milk
115g/1 cup chopped walnuts
Method:
Preheat the oven
to 180C/350F /Gas 4. In a bowl, combine the
crushed biscuits, sugar, salt and butter or
margarine. Press the mixture evenly over the base of
an ungreased 33 x 23cm/13 x 9in baking dish.
Sprinkle the
coconut over the biscuit base, then scatter over the
chocolate chips. Pour the condensed milk evenly over
the chocolate. Sprinkle the walnuts on top. Bake in
the oven for 30 minutes. Unmould on to a wire rack
and leave to cool.
