Biscuits, Bars And Cookies Recipes - Chocolate and Coconut Slices

Ingredients

  • 175g/2 cups crushed digestive biscuits

  • 50g/1/4 cup caster sugar

  • pinch of salt

  • 115g/1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted

  • 75g/1 1/2 cup desiccated coconut

  • 250g/9oz plain chocolate chips

  • 250ml/1 cup sweetened condensed milk

  • 115g/1 cup chopped walnuts


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F /Gas 4. In a bowl, combine the crushed biscuits, sugar, salt and butter or margarine. Press the mixture evenly over the base of an ungreased 33 x 23cm/13 x 9in baking dish.

  2. Sprinkle the coconut over the biscuit base, then scatter over the chocolate chips. Pour the condensed milk evenly over the chocolate. Sprinkle the walnuts on top. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Unmould on to a wire rack and leave to cool.
